COLUMBIA — The Missouri soccer team used a tough defense to upset Texas A&M 3-0 on Sunday in College Station, Texas.

The No. 20 Tigers held the No. 6 Aggies to one shot on goal in the first period. Missouri goalkeeper Tasha Dittamore ended the game with five saves and her seventh shutout of the season, a Tigers single-season record.

Senior forward Ashley Hamblin started the scoring for Missouri 30 minutes into the game, firing a shot into the lower right corner. Sophomore Kari Adam scored 12 minutes later on a pass from Hamblin. Sophomore Krista Kruse capped the scoring in the final five minutes, heading in a free kick from senior captain Janelle Cordia.

The Tigers had won at College Station only one other time beating the Aggies in 2004 when A&M was ranked No. 4.

The victory makes the Tigers 11-4-0 overall and 5-2-0 in Big 12 Conference play. MU's next game is Friday at home against Baylor.
