JEFFERSON CITY — The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is giving Missouri $11 million to help recover from flooding damage that occurred earlier this year.
Flooding in May and June in Missouri prompted two presidential disaster declarations.
The federal agency announced Monday that 15 states have been awarded block grants because of natural disasters throughout the year. The funds can be used for long-term recovery and infrastructure needs.
Neighboring Iowa got the most at $72 million, and Illinois was awarded $17 million. Five of the eight states bordering Missouri received money through the federal housing grants.

How much of the damage in Missouri was farm lands verses actual housing developments in cities effected would be my question.
Let's hope that money gets spent wisely.
