COLUMBIA — Two adults and one child were taken to the hospital with minor injuries after a four-car accident at about 3:30 p.m. Monday on northbound Providence Road, just south of Green Meadows Road, according to a news release from the Columbia Fire Department.

The accident occurred when a man in a "Quality Cut" lawn service truck ran into the back of a Chevy Cavalier, resulting in a chain-reaction accident involving a Dodge Stratus and a Chrysler Town & Country minivan, the release stated.

The male driver of the Cavalier and a child passenger, as well as the driver of the Stratus, were all taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries, according to the release. The driver of the lawn care truck and the minivan were not taken to the hospital.

The names of the people involved were unavailable upon request.

The Columbia Fire Department and the Columbia Police Department both responded to the incident, and the accident remains under investigation, the release stated.
