COLUMBIA — To share what what qualities they think Columbia Public Schools' next superintendent should have, people can attend one of three community forums this week.

Two community forums will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday: one at Smithton Middle School and one at Lange Middle School. A third forum will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Gentry Middle School.

The district also posted an online survey with questions about the district's characteristics and strengths and what priorities the board should have for the search. A paper copy of the survey is available at all schools. Surveys will be accepted until Nov. 14.

The Missouri School Boards Association's superintendent search firm is helping the Columbia school board with the search and organized the forums to get feedback from parents, teachers, administrators and community members about what's important for the district's next superintendent, whose term will begin July 1.

The search firm will accept applications until Jan. 16, and board members will review those applications Jan. 30.
