This is Nate Birt, one of the Missourian's copy desk teaching assistants. I'll start tonight's conversation off by posing a question: What has surprised you about Election Day 2008 so far? See anything unexpected? Overhear any out-of-the-ordinary conversations? Tell us and other readers about it by adding a comment of your own. We'll be asking other questions throughout the night, and we'd encourage you to pose your own.
That the lines and waits at some polling places were nowhere near as long as some predicted. I wonder if any people decided not to vote simply because of those predictions.
A good question, Ayn Rand, and I suppose we'll find out more about turnout figures as we get into Wednesday. Anyone else notice similar?
