PrintUniversity of Missouri System President Gary Forsee sent the following e-mail on Thursday regarding the Express Scripts announcement about the possibility that data files were accessed without authorization:
"Dear University Colleagues:
This afternoon we were notified by Express Scripts that a number of its customer data files have been accessed without authorization. Express Scripts is one of North America's largest pharmacy benefit management companies, and the University of Missouri System is an Express Scripts customer as part of our medical benefits plan. However, we do not yet know whether any of our files were part of this unauthorized access.
The press release that Express Scripts issued today appears below. Please note that additional information on this evolving situation-which is under investigation by the FBI-is available on Express Scripts' Web site. This site, which currently features background on the situation and questions/answers, will be updated as information becomes available.
We are closely monitoring the situation. We will notify you when we receive any information about the status of university accounts with Express Scripts.
