COLUMBIA — A man was abducted from the Walmart Supercenter parking lot at 3001 W. Broadway shortly before midnight Wednesday, according to a news release from the Columbia Police Department.

The victim escaped, but the suspect has not been apprehended and the incident is still under investigation, the release said.

The victim said he was approached by the suspect, described as a medium-build male with a thin mustache and goatee, and forced into his car at gunpoint. The suspect was last seen wearing dark pants and a dark hooded sweatshirt with lettering, the release said.

Once inside the vehicle, the suspect directed him to drive around the Columbia Mall area before being instructed to stop near Westwind Drive, according to the release. The suspect then stepped out of the car to urinate, at which point the victim drove away and reported the incident.

The suspect was reported to have a small firearm and is considered dangerous, according to the release.
