Nixon announced Tuesday that Wayne Goode will be the deputy transition director for budget review. Goode spent 42 years in the state legislature as a Democrat from St. Louis. He led the Senate Appropriations Committee in 1999 and 2000.

Nixon said Goode's main duties on the transition team will be to analyze the state's current budget situation, offer advice on fiscal matters and help craft the administration's first budget.

The 71-year-old Goode has a bachelor's degree in banking and finance from MU.
