St. Louis County teacher accused of having sex with student

CLAYTON — A high school teacher in south St. Louis County is accused of having sex with a girl at the school and showing her and three other girls explicit pictures of himself.

Baxter Harris is a business teacher and girls' basketball coach at Hancock Place High School. The 30-year-old was charged Monday with two counts of sexual contact with a student and four counts of showing pornography to minors.

St. Louis County police said Harris allegedly had sex with a 17-year-old student in a classroom and on school grounds earlier this year. Police also said the girls took nude pictures of themselves on a digital camera and showed them to the teacher. They said he also took inappropriate pictures of himself and showed them to the girls.

According to a St. Louis Post-Dispatch report, Harris is on paid leave from the school as board members begin the process to fire him.
