COLUMBIA — Federal disaster aid is now available to help individuals, families and businesses in Missouri whose property was damaged or destroyed by the severe storms, tornadoes and flooding that occurred in September.

Boone County is included under the Federal Emergency Management Agency's list of affected counties, and those affected may apply for aid or direct assistance with housing and other needs such as medical and funeral costs, clothing and household items. For a complete list, click here.

Applicants must meet FEMA qualifications in order to receive aid. To be eligible, applicants must have property or have lived in the home that was damaged or destroyed and must have filed insurance that is either insufficient or does not cover damages.
