Tigers swimmers struggle on road

The Missouri men's and women's swimming teams lost in competition Friday and Saturday against the University of Louisville in Louisville, Ky.

The the No. 21 men's team,which fell 218-135, was led by sophomores Spenser Lauver and Cameron Sellers with runner-up finishes. Lauver lost by four-tenths of a second in the 1,650-yard freestyle, while Sellers finished second in the 200-yard freestyle.

Junior swimmer Colleen Gordon and freshman diver Jordan Morcom set pool records for the women's team, which lost 185-168.

Gordon finished in 4:25.28 seconds in the 400-yard individual medley, breaking the previous record by about 1.5 seconds.

Morcom posted a score of 327.15 in the 3-meter diving competition, improving the previous record by about 2.5 points.

The Tigers swim next at the Mizzou Invite, which takes place Dec. 5 to 7 in Columbia.
