WEST PLAINS — Two brothers from south-central Missouri are jailed on $1 million bond, charged with killing a man whose body turned up in the trunk of a burned-out car.

Firefighters found the body of 22-year-old Ricky Johnson of Pottersville on Saturday, after extinguishing a blaze in the garage of a vacant house near West Plains.

Authorities arrested 31-year-old Jonnathan Graven and his 23-year-old brother, Jared "Skip" Graven, a few days later.

Howell County prosecutors charged both men on Thursday with first-degree murder, arson, tampering with a motor vehicle and abandonment of a corpse.

Officers had searched the brothers' home in West Plains and found fresh paint along with new floors.
