If the Missouri Tigers want a chance at revenge, they may get it.
The only question left is who it would be against.
Oklahoma’s 65-21 home win over Texas Tech on Saturday only muddied the picture of who the No. 12 Tigers will play Dec. 6 for the Big 12 championship at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
Oklahoma, Texas and Texas Tech are all candidates and have identical records at 10-1 heading into next week’s final regular season games to determine the Big 12 South champion. If all three teams win or two do, then BCS standings would determine Missouri’s opponent.
If the Tigers play Oklahoma, they could avenge two losses to the Sooners last season, including a 38-17 defeat in a rematch of the Big 12 title game. If they play Texas, it would be their first meeting since a 56-31 drubbing earlier this season that dashed Missouri’s national-title hopes.
Texas Tech is the least likely to face Missouri. A win Saturday night would have clinched the Big 12 South for the Red Raiders but the loss will likely drop them below Texas and Oklahomas in the BCS standings.
Missouri hasn’t fared well against ranked opponents this season. After beating then-No. 20 Illinois to start the season, the Tigers lost back-to-back to No. 17-Oklahoma State and No. 1-Texas.
The Big 12 North champion Tigers play Kansas next Saturday, also at Arrowhead Stadium.
