ST. LOUIS — A 14-year-old boy stabbed a St. Charles County man charged with sex crimes against children, police say.

St. Charles police said Randall G. Krauss, 49, was confronted by the boy at about 5 p.m. Thursday. The boy stabbed him in the abdomen with a three-inch pocket knife. Krauss was taken to a local hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Krauss was charged in October with felony statutory rape, four counts of felony statutory sodomy and a misdemeanor charge of child molestation.

Prosecutor Jack Banas said the victim in the sex charges against Krauss is a girl. Krauss was set to be arraigned on those charges Friday, but the arraignment was continued.

The St. Charles County Sheriff's Department declined to comment about the reasons for the confrontation.
