COLUMBIA — A man from Twentynine Palms, Calif., was arrested on Saturday evening by Boone County Sheriff's Department deputies on suspicion of first-degree burglary and third-degree assault, according to a news release from the department.

At 10:28 p.m. Saturday, deputies arrived at a residence on the 2600 block of Buffalo Drive after a call about a disturbance. They learned that an acquaintance of the resident had come in through a window and then assaulted her, the release said.

Deputies found Corey Landreth, 19, in the residence and arrested him, according to the release. A judge set Landreth's bond at $10,000 for the burglary charge and $500 for the assault charge.
