Columbia police search finds more than 250 grams of marijuana

COLUMBIA — Columbia police arrested one man on suspicion of drug possession Monday night in his south Columbia apartment, according to a Police Department news release.

Steven J. Holtgrewe, 21, was arrested on suspicion of three counts of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. As of 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, Holtegrewe was in the Boone County Jail on $500 bond for the count of possession. Bond for the three counts of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance had not been set at that time.

At approximately 9:35 p.m. Monday, police served a search warrant at Holtgrewe's apartment at 5451 Bethel Church Road S., according to the news release. During the search, police seized 258 grams of marijuana, 166 grams of hash, 39 ecstasy pills and digital scales, the news release states.

Holtgrewe, an MU student, was taken into custody during the search.
