Five arrested in residential burglary

COLUMBIA — Five Columbia men are in custody after a residential burglary Wednesday afternoon.

At 1:30 p.m. Columbia police were sent to the 400 block of Hickman Avenue to respond to a burglary in progress, according to a Columbia Police Department news release. When they arrived, the officers found that the rear door of the home had been forced open, and upon searching the residence, five suspects were found hiding in the basement. 

Jaquan Bailey, 19; Avery Nelson, 18; She'aun Prince, 17; Eddie Hollis, 19; and Tevin Nelson, 19, were taken into custody and charged with second degree burglary, according to the release.  The incident is under investigation.
