JEFFERSON CITY – Missouri Gov.-elect Jay Nixon is turning to more than 100 "citizen advisers'' to help him recruit candidates for state appointments.

The advisers will work with Nixon's transition leaders to identify people to serve in the newly elected governor's administration.

Nixon, the state's Democratic attorney general, said Friday that he hopes the citizen advisers will discover qualified people in their own neighborhoods. Nixon has said he plans to have his Cabinet in place by the Jan. 12 inauguration.
