POPLAR BLUFF — The Missouri Department of Corrections will hold a ribbon cutting on Monday for a community supervision center in Poplar Bluff.

The event will be held at 11 a.m. at the Black River Industrial Park Road site. The center is expected to take in offenders beginning next week.

The center will provide transitional help for offenders, allowing them to work, attend school or undergo treatment. It will include dorm-style housing for about 60 people on probation or parole who need supervision. It will also have administrative space and classroom areas.
