Kewpies boys basketball moves to 5-0

The Hickman boys basketball team beat Blue Springs South 63-51 on Monday at the Blues Springs South Tournament to improve to 5-0 this season.

The Kewpies increased their defensive pressure and outscored the Jaguars 20-10 in the fourth quarter. Senior Eric Franklin led Hickman with 18 points, while Marcus Whitt and Spenser Washington scored 11 apiece.

Hickman plays the winner of the Grandview-Truman game in the second round of the tournament at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Blue Springs South.
