Columbia man injured in knife disturbance

COLUMBIA — The Columbia Police Department was dispatched at 8:15 p.m. Sunday to 402 Alexander Ave. to respond to a disturbance involving a knife, according to a police news release.

Once on the scene, officers located a 49-year-old man with a laceration on his lower jaw. The man was transported by ambulance to University Hospital for treatment.  His injuries were not considered life threatening, the release stated.

The man was uncooperative and gave little information on how he was injuried, according to the release, and the investigation is under way.  Those with more information are asked to go to the CrimeStoppers Web site,  875tips.com.
