ST. LOUIS — Former Crawford County collector Danny Wayne Gladden was sentenced Friday to 27 months in prison for federal tax evasion.
U.S. Attorney Catherine Hanaway says the charge was connected to Gladden's failure to report more than $300,000 of funds he embezzled as a collector.
Gladden is 56 and lives in Steelville. He was convicted in September of four felony counts.
In April, Gladden was found guilty of 22 counts of felony stealing. He was originally arrested in 2005 after it was discovered that thousands of dollars were missing from county coffers.
Gladden was first elected county collector in 1991 and resigned shortly after his arrest.
