Two accidents occur in Columbia/Boone County

COLUMBIA — Roads remained relatively accident-free in spite of freezing rain and sleet on Sunday night. As of 8:10 p.m., only two accidents were reported in the Columbia/Boone County area during the wintry mix.

According to a Columbia Police Department employee, a non-injury accident occurred at 6:36 p.m. near the intersection of Rock Quarry Road and Capen Park Drive when a vehicle slid off the road.

The Boone County Sheriff's Department and Public Safety Joint Communications were unable to offer additional information on a second accident. However, according to the joint communications 911 dispatch, a second accident with unknown injuries occurred at 7:23 p.m. near Turkey Creek Road and Highway 63, in the Holts Summit area. According to police scanner reports, one vehicle left the scene.
