Several accidents occur on westbound Interstate 70

COLUMBIA — Several vehicles were involved in four different crashes around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday on Interstate 70 at Sorrell's Overpass.

One accident involved two vehicles, while two other cars slid off the roadway and struck median cables.

A westbound tractor-trailer left the road and almost struck the median cables. Three vehicles slid off the road but were not damaged. An eastbound tractor-trailer slid off the road and struck the median cables but left the scene.

West of Sorrell's Overpass, outside of city limits, at least three vehicles left the road. It is unknown whether there was a collision or if the vehicles slid off the road.

No one was injured in the collisions.

No names have been released, and the accidents are pending further investigation.
