VERONA — An Amish girl spent the night outside in freezing temperatures after a horse spooked as her parents were loading her into a buggy.
Four-year-old Hannah Yoder was not inside the buggy when it was recovered Sunday night near her family's home in the southwest Missouri town of Verona.
A massive search involving several law enforcement agencies ended Monday morning when a passer-by spotted Hannah in a ditch near the intersection of Missouri 39 and a county road, about a half-mile outside of Verona.
The girl was taken by ambulance to an Aurora hospital to be checked out. But the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department said in a news release that she is expected to make a full recovery.
