COLUMBIA — A clerk at the Movie Gallery on 2101 Corona Road chased after a man who stole video games from the store, according to a Columbia Police Department news release.
The suspect was seen placing video games in a bag he brought into the store with him. When told by the store clerk working at the time that he could only rent two games at a time, the suspect fled the scene, taking the bag filled with more than 10 video games with him, the release said.
The store clerk chased after the suspect, who stopped and attempted to physically assault the clerk twice during the chase, according to the release.
The clerk, whose name has not been released, eventually returned to the store uninjured as the suspect continued fleeing west towards Arlene Drive, the release stated.
The burglar was described as a dark-skinned, stocky black male, approximately 20 to 25 years old. He was dressed in a black stocking cap, black hooded zip front sweatshirt with a design or letter on front and dark blue jeans, according to the release.
