Ashland man arrested after car pushed into Hartsburg home

COLUMBIA —An Ashland man is accused of using his car to push another vehicle against a Hartsburg home early Saturday morning, leading to his arrest on suspicion of domestic assault and child endangerment, according to a Boone County Sheriff's Department news release.

Dylan Hulett, 19,was driving a 2003 Ford F-250 shortly after midnight and intentionally rammed a 2001 Ford Mustang, which he also owned, but was being driven by a 19-year-old woman that he knew, according to the release.

Deputies said the truck pushed the Mustang 270 feet, pinning it against the corner of a home on Second Street in Hartsburg, where two children, ages 1 and 5, were present.

No injuries were reported.

Hulett was arrested at University Hospital on suspicion of first-degree domestic assault, first-degree property damage, two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, driving with a suspended driver's license, according to the release. Deputies said Hulett also has two warrants from Warren and Cooper counties for failure to appear.

Hulett's bond is set at $37,300 and the investigation is continuing, according to the release.
