COLUMBIA — A Columbia man was injured in an accident at 9:33 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Worley Street and Stadium Boulevard, according to Sgt. Dan Beckman of the Columbia Police Department.

Blake Northway, 40, was traveling east on Worley and ran a red light at the intersection with Stadium Boulevard, Beckman said. Northway's car was struck in the driver's side by a car driven by Venkat Mangunta, 30, from Pensacola, Fla., who was traveling south through the intersection.

Northway and Mangunta were both treated and released from University Hospital, Beckman said.

Police confirmed that both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision. Northway was issued with two summons for failure to stop at a red light and no proof of insurance, Beckman said.
