Blunt pardons 4 convicted of stealing offenses

JEFFERSON CITY — Gov. Matt Blunt pardons four people convicted of stealing offenses.

Counting this year's Christmas Eve pardons, Blunt has granted pardons to 14 people during his four years in office. Blunt's office said Missouri's Probation and Parole Board unanimously recommended clemency.

The pardons went to Scott Flentge, convicted of forgery in 1979; Joy Howard Marshall, convicted of passing a bad check in 1997; Sharo Shirshekan, convicted of stealing in 1980; and Joseph Siebrasse, convicted of stealing in 1996.

The governor on Wednesday also made Gregory Naeger eligible for a parole hearing by reducing his sentence from 17 years to 12 years. Naeger in 2001 was convicted of second-degree burglary, attempted felony stealing and attempted escape while in custody.
