HANNIBAL — A brake cables plant in northeast Missouri is closing by the end of the year.

A representative for DURA says the company plans to close a plant in Hannibal. Employees have been told the plant's operations are moving to Mexico and Milan, Tenn. DURA has been gradually phasing out jobs at its Hannibal North plant since March.

The DURA South plant in Hannibal closed in September 2007.

DURA filed for bankruptcy under Chapter 11 in November 2006. At the time, DURA had 420 workers in Hannibal.

DURA announced a massive restructuring in October, saying it expected to close 16 manufacturing facilities worldwide.
