SPRINGFIELD — A former fitness trainer in Springfield has pleaded not guilty to secretly videotaping female athletes after convincing them to weigh themselves naked.

Former St. John's Health Systems trainer Scott Johnson on Tuesday entered not guilty pleas to 17 counts of second-degree invasion of privacy. A Greene County judge set a Dec. 31 hearing to address a defense motion to reduce Johnson's $20,000 bond.

Prosecutors say the 30-year-old Johnson convinced four females — one of whom is currently 16 — to weigh themselves nude in a private room and then videotaped it.

Johnson faces a maximum of four years in prison on each of the 17 charges against him. Prosecutors said pornography charges could not be filed because none of the footage contains sexual conduct, sexual contact or sexual performances.
