ST. LOUIS — The city of Kirkwood is planning to remember February's deadly shootings in City Hall.
Charles "Cookie" Thornton shot and killed five city of Kirkwood officials and police officers in a City Hall rampage on the night of Feb. 7.
Two others, including Mayor Mike Swoboda, were also wounded in the attack. Swoboda subsequently died after recovering from his gunshot wounds.
The city is planning to hold a public Remembering Ceremony on Feb. 7, 2009, on the steps of Kirkwood City Hall.
Plans also are under way for a memorial walkway to be built near City Hall in honor of those who died in the shootings.
