COLUMBIA — A north Columbia homeowner discovered Sunday that a bullet had cut through a wall of the house.

No one was injured, but the bullet had gone through the outer and inner wall of the residence, located in the 1700 block of Citadel Drive, before becoming lodged in a walk-in closet, a Columbia Police Department news release said.

The resident discovered the bullet hole just after 1 p.m. It isn't known when the damage took place, but is thought to be between noon Saturday and noon Sunday, the release said.

The investigation is ongoing. Police encourage anyone with information to contact CrimeStoppers at 875-8477 or 875tips.com.
