PrintJEFFERSON CITY — Matt Blunt has been hired by an equity firm led by a son of former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.
Solamere Capital said Tuesday that the outgoing governor will be a senior adviser at the Massachusetts firm, led by Tagg Romney. It cited his experience with Missouri’s budget.
Blunt was an early supporter of Mitt Romney’s failed Republican presidential bid. He announced in January that he would not seek a second term as governor. He leaves office Jan. 12.
His administration gained attention over accusations of violating an open records law. His office recently released e-mails to settle a lawsuit brought by media organizations.
A spokesman says Blunt will continue to live with his family in Springfield.

Hmmm…how convenient he’s moving to Boston. Kinda like his executive order to end sodomy as a crime in this state…oh and I heard that him and his wife are getting seperated. A connection to the e-mail scandal that hasn’t “come out” yet as they say???
Tony's Kansas City -- a blog, for those who haven't heard of it -- reported the "out" rumor several months ago, but I haven't seen any newspapers follow up to see if it's true. TKC's reporting, by the way, consisted mainly of aggregating Internet rumors.

Are we even surprised at the exodus of Republicans? Rush Limbaugh is still trying to hold up the banner. They talked about LESS GOVERNMENT oversite. They said "I don't want the government telling me what to do with my money. I'd rather have less government regulation and taxes, then I can decide what to do with my money on my own." Now that we see that the less regs have gotten us this recession that they denied that we were in, they now can say like Erkel. "DID I DO THAT?" But they never said "So Sorry" as they sulk into the background with millions in their coffers. Poor Rush can't skulk away because he still has a show to do, so he does what any good puppeteer does, sing and dance around the real issues. Good bye gov, we hardly knew ye.

Dexter, the Democrats are just as much to blame for the current crisis. For example, in 2003, the Bush administration wanted more -- not less -- oversight of Fannie and Freddie. The Dems successfully thwarted that proposal. In fact, Barney Frank said: "These two entities are not facing any kind of financial crisis. The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing." And Mel Watt said: "I don't see much other than a shell game going on here, moving something from one agency to another and in the process weakening the bargaining power of poorer families and their ability to get affordable housing."
Yet Frank and Watt won't admit that they helped cause this crisis, and too many in the press lack the stones to call them on it.
