COLUMBIA — Police are seeking two men in connection with an attempted home invasion robbery that occurred Wednesday morning in the 1300 block of Hickam Drive, a news release from the Columbia Police Department stated.

After investigating the attempted robbery, police also found about one pound of marijuana in the backyard of the victim's home, a second release stated.

According to the release, at 10:47 a.m. the victim, a 42-year-old man, told police that while inside his home, two men with guns broke through his back door and then bound him with duct tape. The men then ransacked his home looking for money during which one of the men kicked the victim in the face resulting in a cut, the release stated. The men then fled the home.

Police attempted to track the men with a dog but the dog instead found approximately one pound of marijuana buried in the backyard, the release stated.

In a later release at 3:15 p.m., a search warrant was obtained and the house was searched.  A small quantity of marijuana and drug paraphernalia was seized inside the house and from a vehicle on the property.

Investigators continue to work on identifying the owners of the marijuana and the intruders.

Information related to the incident may be submitted on the Crime Stoppers Web site, 875tips.com, or by calling 875-8577.

These kick-in thundercats are now the CPS's best snitches. The homes that they kick in are getting the owners busted for dope. This is the second time that the owner's drug operation has been outted by these criminals. Drug dealers beware, you're probably sitting right next to the fellow that's going to kick your door in later this week. I would suggest they go on down to the police station and sign up to be the next Starsky and Hutch. Just keep kicking in on criminals and leave honest hard working folks alone.

Art Vandelay there was a story about a house with a video cam that caught some intruders on video tape and the house has had repeated break in over quite some time. If that is the one Dexter is referring to>
