LICKING — Police say a St. Louis woman is jailed after suspected marijuana was found in her shoe while she was visiting an inmate at a state prison in south-central Missouri.

Licking police say guards found the pot Sunday when the 61-year-old woman removed her shoe before going through a metal detector at the South Central Correctional Center. She was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance at a correctional facility.

The woman is being held at the Texas County Jail. Formal charges are pending.
