CLAYTON — An O'Fallon man is sentenced to seven years in prison for the construction zone drunk-driving accident that killed an engineering student who was working with a highway crew.
Ryan Seeler was sentenced on Friday. His attorney plans to appeal the sentence.
Seeler is 34. He was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in November.
The charge stemmed from the July 2007 death of 22-year-old Gavin Donohue. The University of Missouri-Rolla student was working as an intern at a construction site along Interstate 64 in Chesterfield when he was struck by Seeler's vehicle.
Authorities say Seeler was intoxicated after attending a St. Louis Cardinals game.
