ST. JOSEPH — A Clinton County man originally accused of second-degree murder has pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter.

Kyle William Musser of Gower, entered the guilty plea on Friday after the state filed amended charges from second-degree murder to voluntary manslaughter. Clinton County Prosecutor William Burris says the felony carries five to 15 years in prison.

Burris said the prosecution asked for a suspension of the sentence with a recommended five-year probation.

Musser was charged in connection with the death of 33-year-old Kurt Brinton of Gower after a fight outside a bar in October.

I find that the only punishment recommended is probation with a suspended sentence. A man has died at this man's hands and that is the best you can come up with?? Come on.. Is Clinton County this corrupt. This is not the first time Mr. Musser has been a problem. Probation?? Wasn't he on probation when he was in the bar that night??? You disgust me... Sorry it took me so long to post my comment... But truly I am disgusted. Looks like people need to pay more attention to who they vote for when elections come around...
