Summer Repertory auditions open to public

COLUMBIA — Open auditions will be held for the 41st Summer Repertory season starting at 9 a.m. Feb. 28 at the Rhynsburger Theatre, Hitt Street and University Avenue, MU. Numbers are assigned at registration between 8:30 and 9 a.m.

Those auditioning must prepare a one-minute comedic monologue and a song. Bring your own sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. Callbacks will be posted after auditions, beginning about 11 a.m.

Technical and front-of-house positions are also available. Interviews with the technical director, Dean Packard, will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Feb. 28. If you are unable to make this date, call Packard for an interview at 882-0531.  

Salaries average $150 a week, and academic credit is available. Rehearsals begin June 1, and the company is dismissed July 31.

Shows under consideration are: the musical "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change" and the comedy "Stepping Out," both directed by Jim Miller; and "Biloxi Blues" and "Steel Magnolias," directed by Cheryl Black.
