WASHINGTON — While hundreds of thousands of people were on the National Mall celebrating the impending inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama, the current occupant of the White House was enjoying a low-key evening with current and former staffers.
President George W. Bush and first lady Laura Bush left the White House on Sunday evening to have dinner with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice at her apartment in the Watergate complex.
