Columbia College women's basketball loses

COLUMBIA — The Columbia College women's basketball team was defeated Thursday night by William Woods University Owls.

William Woods (9-8) had an early lead. Despite some back and forth play, William Woods was up 25-22 in the first half.

In the second half, William Woods outscored Columbia College (18-2). They took away a 21 point lead to win the game.

Leading scorer for the Cougars was Rachel Oswald with 15 points and 6 rebounds.

William Woods leading scorer was Rachel Baker who led the Owls with 23 points and 20 rebounds.

This week, the Cougars are 10th in the NAIA poll.

The next match up for the Cougars is a home game against William Baptist College at 2 p.m. this Saturday.
