SPRINGFIELD — A Kansas City, Kan., man is sentenced to more than eight years in prison for producing and trafficking counterfeit identification documents.

David Lorenzo Fletcher, 42, was sentenced in U.S. District Court to eight years and five months in prison without parole.

Fletcher pleaded guilty in September.

A Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper stopped Fletcher's vehicle April 2007 in Jasper County and found 66 counterfeit Missouri driver licenses — 28 of which displayed his photograph with different names and birth dates.

The trooper also found him in possession of Social Security cards belonging to other people, forged payroll checks and lists of birth dates, Social Security numbers and other information.
