COLUMBIA — Free income tax preparation assistance will be provided beginning Monday through April 18 to students and families making less than $45,000 annually.
MU's personal financial planning department will provide assistance at three sites around Columbia. The service will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
Those wishing to take advantage of the service can do so during the following times:
- 4:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays; and from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturdays in 61 Stanley Hall at MU;
- 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays at Central Missouri Community Action, 400 Wilkes Blvd.; and
- 4:30 to 8 p.m. Mondays at Job Point, Suite 200, 2116 Nelwood Drive.
All sites will be closed March 21 to 29. For tax assistance, bring photo identification, Social Security cards for dependents and spouse, W-2 forms for every job worked in 2008, a personal check and savings deposit slip and an optional 2007 tax return.
