LEBANON— A judge ruled that the husband of a southern Missouri woman whose body was found encased in concrete inside a toolbox can be tried for the woman's murder.
Horst Gunter Sabla was in Laclede County Court for his preliminary hearing Wednesday, where Judge Larry Winfrey found probable cause to try him for first-degree murder. Deer hunters found Sharon Sabla's body in a box in a wooded area in Laclede County on Nov. 15.
She was identified after Sheriff Richard Wrinkle received a tip that she was missing.
A probable cause statement said the 57-year-old woman died from a small-caliber gunshot wound to the back of the head.
The statement also said Horst Sabla admitted to shooting her Aug. 9, putting her body in a black plastic cargo box and then filling the box with lime and concrete a few days later.
