ST. LOUIS— Consultants hired by the St. Louis public school district recommend closing around one-third of its schools, some by the end of the current school year.
In a report made public Thursday, MGT of America Inc. said 29 schools should be closed or moved to meet enrollment demands. The consultants also said 30 schools need extensive renovations, and that two elementary schools should be built.
Public comments can be submitted on the school district's Web site until Feb. 8.
