Window, car damaged by gunfire

COLUMBIA — Police responded to two reports of gunshots early Sunday morning,  but no injuries were reported.

According to a news release from the Columbia Police Department, officers were first called to the 200 block of Sexton around 12:52 a.m. but were unable find any evidence of shots being fired after investigating the area.

Approximately 20 minutes later, police were called to the 500 block of Jackson Street to investigate damage to a residence from gunfire, according to the news release.

The damage was located on the residence's window and to a vehicle parked at the same residence, and appeared to have been caused by gunfire, according to the news release.

The individuals at the residence reported hearing the gunshots near the time frame of the original report around 12:52 a.m., the release stated.
