COLUMBIA – In an executive session of the Columbia School Board, board members decided to extend the interview schedule for superintendent candidates to accommodate an additional person, according to a news release from school district.
The board had said in a Jan. 22 press release that the final two or three candidates would be selected by Feb. 1.
The public meet-and-greets with the superintendent candidates, originally scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday, have been canceled. According to the release, the board will announce new times for the public receptions after the additional interview is complete.
Following the executive session, board President Michelle Gadbois and Tom Rose refused to comment on what was discussed in the meeting.
The interview with the additional candidate will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Columbia Public School District Administration Building, according to the release.
