COLUMBIA – The Hickman wrestling team got a win in its last home dual of the season, defeating Sedalia 46-35 on Wednesday night.

Coach J.D. Coffman said he felt confident coming into the match.

“We’ve beat them now a couple years in a row," he said, "so I had a feeling that we’d come out on top.”

The situation also helped.

“I think there is a little bit of extra energy as seniors come in and finish their season in their own gym,” Coffman said.

He said he was happy with how his team finished the regular season, but now the team has to focus on the district tournament.

“We’ll have a good solid week of practice before we get into that competition,” Coffman said. “It's a tough district, probably one of the toughest in the state.”
