COLUMBIA — The No. 5 Missouri wrestling team notched its 16th win of the season after coming back an early six point deficit to beat No. 14 Oklahoma on Friday night in Norman, Okla.
The 18-12 win pushed the team's record to 16-3 on the season and was its 11th comeback win of the year, according to MUTigers.com
After falling behind 9-3 early, victories by Michael Chandler and Nicholas Marable squared the match at 9-9.
From there, Raymond Jordan put the Tigers ahead with a 6-4 decision at 174 pounds over OU's Jeff James. A takedown with 51 seconds left in the third period of the match gave Jordan the win and a 2-0 record in the Big 12.
The Tigers closed out the match winning four of the final five matches. Winners included Pat Flynn, Max Askren and Mark Ellis for Missouri.
Missouri next wrestles at 7 p.m. Sunday against No. 15 Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Okla.
