The Missouri wrestling team defeated host Oklahoma State 27-9 on Saturday to improve to 17-3. The Tigers, fifth-ranked in the country by intermatwrestle.com, won eight of the 10 matches over No. 15 Oklahoma State.
Missouri's Mark Ellis, the top-ranked heavyweight in the nation, beat third-ranked Jake Rosholt 5-2 in overtime. It was Ellis' first win over Rosholt in six matches. At the end of regulation, the match was tied at three, but it took Ellis just 16 seconds of the extra period to take down Rosholt for the victory. It was Ellis' 20th consecutive win of the season.
Senior 141-pounder Marcus Hoehn won 3-1 in sudden victory over the Cowboys' Jamal Parks. Hoehn took down Parks 24 seconds into overtime.
At 149 pounds, senior Andrew Sherry beat OSU's Luke Silver in sudden victory. Sherry trailed in the first two periods but used two reversals to tie the match at six. Just 15 seconds into sudden victory, Sherry took down Silver for the win.
The Tigers will host No. 10 Central Michigan on Friday, February 13th.
